Biographical evaluation → Ilm al-rijal – Current title is too broad that it needs to be disambiguated as, for example, "Biographical evaluation (hadith)". The redirect chosen is category-specific and widely attested. Assem Khidhr (talk) 04:05, 27 March 2020 (UTC)
- This is a contested technical request. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 06:06, 27 March 2020 (UTC)
- @Assem Khidhr: But we need to consider readers who do not know Arabic and do not know all the details of Islam. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 06:08, 27 March 2020 (UTC)
- @Anthony Appleyard: Using an ambiguous term is no considerate to those readers and is rather confusing. It's one possible rendering of the term of which multiple others can be and are already used in relevant scholarly books (See WP:ATDAB). Also, unless there's enough convention and attestation regarding a translated term, using the transliteration, rather than a protologism, as a title for such specific topics is already practiced on wikipedia (See WP:CONSISTENT; e.g. Hadith, Fiqh, Ijma, and others). To help explain these to readers who aren't familiar with such terminology is one reason we have categories and sidebars. Assem Khidhr (talk) 06:40, 27 March 2020 (UTC)
- Weak oppose We don't have any information about biographical evaluation outside of Islam. Is said general topic notable? –LaundryPizza03 (dc̄) 05:54, 30 March 2020 (UTC)
